On Sunday, December 4th, I sang Mabel in MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players' production of Pirates of Penzance for their matinee show. This was also the show that produced our first review with the Boston Musical Intelligencer!

"Mabel, in this performance sung by understudy Elizabeth Sterling, was likewise in solid control of the remarkably wide-ranging part, from coloratura for 'Poor Wand’ring One' to near alto range for 'Leave Me Not to Pine,' arguably Sullivan’s most beautiful melody."

I had a wonderful time singing at Yamaha Music School of Boston's Faculty Recital this past Sunday, November 6th! I got the chance to perform with two of my wonderful pianist colleagues, Jean Elder and Mina Osako.

Our performance was done at the historic Cary Memorial Building in Lexington, MA, and it was also recorded in high-quality by LexMedia! A video of the performance will be available for download on the LexMedia website, as well as DVD copies for purchase.

I was also happy to design the poster and programs for the performance!

On April 26th, I had the wonderful opportunity to perform in Company One Theatre's Professional Development for Actors Showcase, after participating in the class for ten weeks! It was a really fabulous learning experience, and I was lucky to have the chance to challenge myself under the guidance of such great directors and alongside so many other skilled actors.

Shortly afterward, on May 8th & 9th, I performed in TC Squared Theatre's THE NEXT STAGE new playwright's showcase!

It's been a great experience and I hope to continue seeing shows and working to be involved in the Boston theatre scene in the future!

Last week I returned from beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where I spent a fun and busy two weeks at Emerald City Opera's Young Artist Program under the artistic direction of maestro Andres Cladera!

While there, I rehearsed two shows (playing The Bat and one of The Numbers in Ravel's The Child and the Spells, and covering Paquette in Candide), performed in two concerts, participated in two masterclasses (Elizabeth Futral and Michelle DeYoung), and received valuable coachings. It was a wonderful experience to learn and rehearse with some very talented and hard-working fellow singers in such a beautiful mountain environment!

Thank you to everyone who's supported me so far. Audition season is approaching, and I can't wait to see what comes next!

I'm pleased to announce that I've been hired as the soprano soloist for Carter Memorial United Methodist Church's Messiah Sing on December 14th in Needham, MA!

Under the direction of Dr. Millie Beane, the Messiah Sing gives everyone in attendance the opportunity to sing along with the choruses of the Messiah! Looks to be great fun, and I'm very excited to sing with them as a soloist.

I received my new business cards in the mail a few days ago! The photo is by Shawn Flint Blair; I designed the cards myself, and had them printed through moo.com. The quality of moo.com's cards is sleek, modern, and memorable--I highly recommend them!

Don't you just love that new site smell?

I've just ended my month-long stay at the OperaWorks' 2014 Summer Advanced Artist Program in Northridge, CA! It was an amazing, life-altering experience (to say the least). It's been exciting to meet so many wonderful singers and artists, and to have the amazing opportunity to test our limits and explore our art so thoroughly. It's like my eyes have been opened up to a whole new world of performance possibilities! I can't recommend this program enough. I even got to premiere a brand-new opera, (re)constructed out of 32 unrelated arias: The Heist.

I'll be returning to Boston soon after spending some quality time in LA with my brothers (our artistic pursuits have taken us to different corners of the US, so we don't get to visit very often!) I'll be missing sunny California, my musical experiences there, and all of the friends I met, but I'm looking forward to jumping back into music in New England!

Thanks for visiting my revamped website!

See ya later, Santa Monica!
